On August 6, EDGE hosted the inaugural International Commerce Sessions and Social at The Georgian Club. Madhu Menon of Infosys greeted attendees and gave a glimpse of his organization’s global footprint. Guests were then given the opportunity to hear from panelists experienced in the opportunities and struggles of international business. Daniel Ostergaard of the University of South Carolina Darla Moore School of International Business, Kevin Boyle of Birla Carbon, and Jeff Cashmanof Manhattan Associates led the discussion, each speaking about their experience in international commerce and the opportunities and threats of the future of global business.
Jamila Hall of Jones Day, who has extensive experience working on global matters for Fortune 500 companies all over the world, was the keynote speaker for the evening. She discussed the cultural difference that can sometimes complicate matters when working internationally.
To close the evening, Kennesaw’s Novelis was awarded for their community engagement in Cobb County. Guests were then invited to enjoy appetizers and network with other professionals.
