Over 70 business and community leaders gathered at local schools to participate in the 13th Annual Principal for a Day program. The program was held on February 25th in Cobb County Schools and February 28th in Marietta City Schools. This half-day program gave the principals for a day an opportunity to shadow a Cobb County or Marietta City public school principal and see firsthand the strengths and challenges of our educational system. The correspondence between the principal and the principals for a day also provides a chance to begin a partnership between the business and the school. Many needs can be identified, and a way for them to be met is also established through this program. Some additional activities that took place during this year’s Principal for a Day program included a tour of the school, making the morning announcements, and meeting with students. Principal for a Day 2014 was a great way for Cobb’s business and community leaders to collaborate and experience a day in the life of a principal.
